The new Browning A5 Hunter 20 Gauge is built using our small-sized frame that results in a shotgun that is trim, lightweight, and a dream to carry all day through the fields. When the time comes to pull the trigger at flushing upland game, the A5 Hunter 20 Gauge packs plenty of punch.
You may notice a family resemblance, but this ain't your Grandpa's Auto-5. The iconic humpback-shaped receiver is the only feature this semi-automatic shotgun shares with its legendary namesake. The Browning A5 is built to be the most reliable, fastest cycling, best performing, and softest shooting recoil-operated autoloader on the planet, and we are so confident in the A5 that we stand behind it with a 100,000-round or five-year guarantee that this shotgun will work, come hell or high water.
The recoil-operated Kinematic Drive System is behind the speed and reliability of the A5. It is simple and efficient and uses the energy of motion to cycle a variety of factory ammunition loads under the stresses of all weather conditions. Other innovations, like the Invector-DS choke tube system and Inflex II recoil pad, place the A5 right at the industry's top and poise it to create its legacy in the marshes and fields.

SMALLER FRAME
The A5 20 gauge is built using a smaller frame, making it slimmer and over a pound lighter than the 12 gauge Hunter model.

CHOKE TUBES
To maximize versatility and optimize shot pattern performance, the A5 features the Invector-DS system. Invector-DS tubes have a longer, more gradual taper for improved patterning. The bronze seal at the base of the tube is designed to eliminate powder fouling from getting between the barrel and the choke tube. Muzzle-end threading reduces the bulge in the barrel for improved appearance.
TRIGGER
The trigger group is easy to remove for cleaning.
ERGONOMIC BOLT LATCH
Conveniently located just ahead of the trigger guard, the bolt latch locks the bolt to the rear when the magazine is unloaded and releases a shell from the magazine when the bolt is closed for faster loading. The oversized shape makes the bolt latch easy to locate and operate.
