This holster is considered a "hybrid" because of the combination of the leather and Kydex® construction. The leather backer is designed to conform to your body for comfort and provide a stable and semi-rigid platform. The Kydex pocket is molded to fit the exact dimensions of the smaller-sized Browning 1911-22 and 1911-380 pistols, minimizing bulk and providing secure retention with a smooth draw.
The optimal carry position for this holster is at the rear of your draw side at the 3:00 to 6 o'clock location for right-hand draw or 9 to 6 for left-hand draw. You read that correctly, left-hand draw. This holster is completely ambidextrous and can be set up for either a right- or left-handed user.
The removable belt clips can be adjusted for ride height and are a tuckable design, meaning that you can tuck in your shirt over your sidearm for discreet inside the waistband (IWB) carry. Removing the belt clips even allows this holster to be used for outside the waistband (OWB) carry. Belt sizes up to 1-1/2" can be used for IWB or OWB carry.
