Tight groups have always been a cornerstone of the Browning BAR, and with a new interface between the barrel and receiver, accuracy has been further improved in the new BAR MK 4. Threading the button-rifled barrel into the receiver, as is common with bolt-action rifles, provides a more precise relationship between the seven-lug rotary bolt and the barrel that translates directly into impressive autoloader accuracy.

John M. Browning was the pioneer of gas-operated autoloading firearms and the BAR MK4 carries on the tradition. The BAR MK 4 features the time-honored performance of a gas piston design that provides fast cycling, reduces felt recoil, and because gas doesn't enter the receiver, added reliability. An integrated buffer reduces wear and stress on the operating system.

The styling of the new BAR MK 4 is as purposeful as it is attractive. It features bold, purposeful lines combined with a familiar shape that gives a nod to the past. Comfort behind the scope comes from a vertical grip that offers an easy reach to the trigger and a forearm that is scalloped for added control. The stock is shim adjustable to lock-in your personal cast and drop dimensions. Composite models include a raised SoftFlex cheekpad for added shooting comfort. Fluting on the barrel further reduces weight.
