Shot Show 2026 SHOT Show Special - Browning bolt-action rifle optimized for precision hunting, long-range target shooting, and competition. Features include a shorter heavy sporter barrel with 5/8"-24 suppressor-ready threads, adjustable DLX Target trigger, extended bolt handle, and adjustable MAX composite stock.

Overview

The Browning X-Bolt Special MAX LR SPR excels in the field and on the range with the features you want for precision shooting and the adjustability to optimize how your body interacts with the rifle.

The foundation of this rifle is its heavy sporter barrel. SPR rifles have barrels that are 4" shorter than standard lengths to keep overall rifle length in check when using a suppressor. The muzzle is threaded 5/8"-24 and is ready for use with an optional suppressor. The receiver's additional bolt guidance surface offers smooth cycling and bind-free performance. The bolt features a longer handle to reduce the force needed to open the bolt.

Cartridges are fed from the center of the standard rotary magazine for straight to the chamber feeding. The magazine also has shoulder retention to protect the tip of the bullet from striking the front of the magazine during recoil.

The adjustable DLX Trigger brings the light touch you need for accurate shooting. This three-lever design has zero creep, zero take-up, zero overtravel, and a glass-like break.

Adjustability is key to precision and the black MAX stock gives you the versatility to customize the comb to dial in the alignment between your eye and optics. The 1” thick Inflex recoil pad tames felt recoil.
