Competition Recoil HAWG Muzzle Brake Installation Instructions
WARNING: READ AND PRECISELY FOLLOW ALL INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS CONTAINED ON THIS PAGE AND THE OWNER’S MANUAL INCLUDED WITH YOUR FIREARM BEFORE INSTALLING OR REMOVING THIS MUZZLE BRAKE. PLACE THE “SAFETY” OF YOUR RIFLE IN THE ON SAFE POSITION. REMOVE THE MAGAZINE (IF EQUIPPED), OPEN THE ACTION AND MAKE CERTAIN YOUR RIFLE IS COMPLETELY UNLOADED. ALWAYS KEEP THE MUZZLE POINTED IN A SAFE DIRECTION. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE WARNINGS COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO YOU OR THOSE AROUND YOU!

WARNING: THE ADDITION OF A RECOIL REDUCING MUZZLE BRAKE SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES NOISE AND MUZZLE BLAST. YOU, AND EVERYONE IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE FIREARM, SHOULD ALWAYS WEAR HEARING PROTECTION TO HELP PREVENT HEARING LOSS OR DAMAGE AND SAFETY GLASSES TO HELP PREVENT DEBRIS FROM INJURING THE EYES.
TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR RIFLE, VERIFY THAT THE BARREL HAS A SHOULDER OF AT LEAST .700" (17.78 MM). ADDITIONALLY, THE MUZZLE THREAD LENGTH MUST BE A MINIMUM OF .40" (10.16 MM) AND A MAXIMUM OF .62" (15.74 MM).
NOTICE: BE AWARE THAT YOUR RIFLE’S POINT OF IMPACT MAY CHANGE AS THE HARMONICS OF THE BARREL ARE AFFECTED WHEN ADDING A MUZZLE BRAKE WHICH CHANGES THE WEIGHT AT THE MUZZLE.

INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
- Completely unload your rifle according to the instructions found in your owner’s manual.
- Place your rifle in a gun vise, on a table, or other safe/secure location with the top of the receiver upward. Protect the finish with rags or other padding.
- Remove any muzzle brake, thread protector, or other object from the threaded end of the barrel.
- Clean the threads at the end of the barrel with a gun cleaning solvent and lightly oil the threads.
- Place the muzzle brake, with the logo facing up, over the muzzle threads. Insert the correct lock nut (holes toward the front of the rifle) into the muzzle brake. Turn the lock nut clockwise to thread the lock nut onto the barrel.
- Insert the installation tool through two holes in the lock nut as shown in Figure 1 with half of the tool protruding from each side of the lock nut. To help prevent overtightening the lock nut, grip each end of the installation tool with one hand only and turn clockwise.

- Completely unload your rifle according to the instructions found in your owner’s manual.
- Place your rifle in a gun vise, on a table, or other safe/secure location with the top of the receiver upward. Protect the finish with rags or other padding.
- Insert the installation tool through two holes in the lock nut as shown in Figure 1 and turn the installation tool counterclockwise until the lock nut is free from the barrel. Remove the muzzle brake.
