Petersen’s Hunting Magazine recognizes X-Bolt Speed and BL-22 Maple in their 2017 Annual Gear Issue.

A pair of great Browning rifles made the cut to be included in Petersen’s Hunting Magazine 2017 Annual Gear Guide. In the centerfire rifle category the Petersen’s Hunting Magazine editors included the unique X-Bolt Hell’s Canyon Speed among the 11 rifles named.

Built for tough conditions. “With this one Browning took a step away from its traditional fancy gloss finishes and created a rifle built for tough conditions,” noted the Petersen’s Hunting Magazine editors. “…The Hell’s Canyon is an out-of-the-box rifle with premium touches, such as glass bedding, a Cerakote finish, removable muzzle brake, and the adjustable ‘Feather’ trigger. An A-TAC Arid/Urban camo stock comes standard. The rifle weighs less than 7 pounds.”

Maple stocks are sweet. Among the eight guns in the rimfire rifle category, the Petersen’s Hunting Magazine editors included the Browning BL-22 Maple, a limited production item made for 2016 SHOT Show.

“Browning’s classic lever-action .22 is far from new, but for 2016, it is being offered in a maple stock,” note the editors. “This Grade II rifle features scroll engraving on the steel receiver, gloss bluing, and a high-gloss finish AA maple stock and fore-end with cut checkering. Barrel lengths of 16.5, 20 and 24 inches are available.”
