Review of article by By: David Hart fro the January 28, 2014 Gun Digest
Gun Digest contributor David Hart recently posted his top 10 picks of great new handguns that were introduced at the 2014 SHOT Show in Las Vegas. First up in his batting order is the new Black Label edition of the Browning 1911-22 autoloader.
“It’s a great gun for plinking
or for practicing the use of a compact .45 1911."
“Adding to its popular 1911-22 line-up, Browning introduced the Black Label sub-compact 1911-22, a palm-sized version of the larger model with a new look,” noted Hart. “It’s a great gun for plinking or for practicing the use of a compact .45 1911. Cheaper ammo allows shooters to keep their hands on the gun longer without burning through a fortune in ammo.”
“It’s a handsome gun, too."
“The Black Label comes with a Picatinny accessory rail, an extended ambidextrous thumb safety, a beavertail grip safety, a commander hammer and an extended slide release,” Hart continued. “It’s a handsome gun, too. The grip is made from black laminated wood and the frame and slide are matte black. The Black Label sub-compact weighs just 13 ounces and has a 3 5/8-inch barrel. The magazine holds 10 rounds of .22 LR. It sells for $639.99.”
