What does it mean to be Waterproof?

Release Date: 12/8/2010

Here’s what makes Browning waterproof and breathable clothing different from many of our competitors:

  • Waterproof fabrics: HMX™ and Pre-Vent® fabrics have been specially created to meet our very high standards for waterproofness and breathability. Since shell fabrics are your first defense against the elements, we don’t cut corners on quality.
  • Taped Seams: Every seam is taped or we don’t call it “waterproof.” End of story. We are very involved in developing the correct tape and using only manufacturers who have years of experience taping garments.
  • Construction: Browning waterproof garments are designed and constructed to resist water entry at all closures including cuffs, hoods, pockets and zippers. The Browning name is your assurance that corners are not cut for the sake of cost. When you see the HMX or Pre-Vent labels in Browning garments you know you can rely on them to perform to the highest standards.
