Practical Edge Team Browning

Getting an edge up in training

For several years now Browning has been sponsoring a great bunch of young shooters who are training to shoot in competitive United States Practical Shooting Association (USPCA) matches.

They train primarily with Browning Buck Mark pistols and are outfitted with appropriate Browning gear. And they are all members of the Practical Edge Team Browning.

Practical Edge. Who are they? Each young shooter is part of the Practical Edge Shooting Junior Team. It is a professionally coached group of athletes who compete in the competitive action pistol sports. Practical Edge specifically focuses on shooting competitions that fall under the United States Practical Shooting Association. The young athletes train in regularly scheduled practice sessions and are coached during matches.  All young athletes are members of the United states Practical Shooting Association.

The goal. The Practical Edge Coaching staff produces championship shooters with a focus on excelling in the areas of sportsmanship, positive attitudes, goal setting, and dedication demonstrated through results. Their season runs from Spring through Fall each year with emphasis through the summer months.  They specifically look for Tri-City area juniors (under age 18) who are willing to be dedicated to practice and reaching personal goals.  For further information please E-mail:

The youth shooters shoot a variety of pistols in competition, but Team Browning has a proven training process that utilizes Browning's durable and highly reliable Buck Mark 22 pistols.

An update on the team as of August, 2017 -- This past weekend seven or our athletes competed at the USPSA Inland Empire Section Championship.  We shot the match for score the day prior to the main match, and then our juniors were spread across the many stages helping match staff run the match.  It was a great experience, and the feedback from shooters seeing such an actively involved junior group has been very positive.

Our athlete, Koey Guilbeau, finished top Junior in Production Division while also finishing 3rd overall Production. We are also very excited to announce that Evan DeSteese has earned his USPSA Master Classification.  This is our second junior athlete this season to earn Master Classification. Next up is the ‘Crazy Croc’ match in Dundee Oregon, followed by the Washington State Championships, and then we have a couple Athletes who will compete at USPSA Nationals.
