Gold Shotguns, Firearms
The Gold has an illustrious history with Browning. Today's Gold shotguns are our special 10 gauge versions designed specifically to handle the larger, powerful 10 gauge shotgun loads. Earlier in Browning history Gold models were also made in 12 and 20 gauge versions. The 10 gauge version of today is made for an ultra-elite group of waterfowlers (and some turkey hunters) who are looking for the maximum in down-range knockdown performance. It is no surprise that hard core goose hunters are often Gold 10 owners.
When heavy birds like Canada and snow geese are diving on your blind, or big toms are strutting out yonder, nothing beats the pure power and reliable performance of a burly Browning 10 gauge shotgun.

Gold. A proven standard for autoloading performance.
The Active Valve gas operating system does more than offer extreme load versatility, it controls felt recoil before it ever reaches your shoulder, making the Gold one of the softest shooting autoloaders ever, a feature you are sure to notice the next time a flock of geese turns and comes your way.
Less recoil with the Active Valve
The self-adjusting Active Valve gas system in Gold autoloaders uses gas from fired shells to operate the action instead of contributing to recoil. When shooting light loads, most of the gases operate the action. With magnum loads, only a small amount of gas is necessary to operate the action, while the remaining gases are vented through the Active Valve and out the top of the forearm and away from the receiver for clean, reliable operation. Because the gas piston and Active Valve operate independently, less pressure is exerted on the gas piston for greater longevity and more efficient operation than other gas-operated autoloaders.
Because the Active Valve expels unnecessary gases, it naturally reduces recoil before it ever reaches your shoulder — without the need for heavy hydraulic recoil dampers, sticky gel pads and gimmicky gel stock inserts. Superior recoil reduction from the Active Valve also equals faster, more accurate follow-up shots and all-day shooting comfort regardless of the loads used. Recoil reduction is one reason the Gold 10 remains a popular offering in the Browning line-up.
Easy to maintain
The Gold 10 breaks down into component parts quickly and easily for cleaning. Remove the barrel, pull out the bolt handle and out comes the bolt assembly for cleaning.
The Active Valve-equipped gas piston automatically adjusts to reliably fire a full range of factory 10 gauge loads.
With 3 1/2" 10 gauge shells, three in magazine, one in chamber. A three-shot magazine adapter plug is included.
Gold 10 shotguns include the interchangeable Standard Invector™ choke tube system.
