The Story behind Hell's Canyon Speed

Walter Kaihatu assumed his role as Vice President of Outdoor Products at Browning in 2015 bringing a wealth of experience in outdoor gear, ranging from sporting to tactical. One of his main focuses has been bringing Hell’s Canyon Speed to fruition for 2016.

The clothing system was designed with athlete hunters in mind, like Willi Schmidt, to increase mobility by keeping the clothing lightweight, and designed for a full range of motion with articulated joints. Additionally, “special ingredients” such a PrimaLoft insulation were used in order to provide not just the right amount of insulation, but to place it strategically in the gear to promote better warmth and breathability.

Another key “special ingredient” is A-TACS camouflage. A-TACS is an advanced camo pattern that utilizes macro patterns to blend in at longer distances, with micro patterns integrated into the macro patterns, offering superior concealment at closer ranges. The best part about Hell’s Canyon Speed is that is the only hunting gear available with A-TACS camo.

Also unique to Hell’s Canyon Speed is the fact that the women’s line of Hell’s Canyon Speed is designed with the same thought process and methodology behind the men’s line; 4-way stretch fabrics, articulated joints, HeroFit (true sizing designed to eliminate bagginess and promote mobility), and Performance Mapping – all are included for both genders. You won’t find any pink on the women’s line either – this is superior gear for the athlete hunter – male and female.
