Omega Point

Omega Point Laboratories is a nationally recognized independent fire-testing lab located in Elmendorf, Texas. Omega Point tests and certifies Browning/ProSteel fire safe models. They are the only independent testing lab that provides fire ratings for multiple gun safe companies. Many safe manufacturers do not use Omega Point because their safes would not qualify for a high rating — or would not qualify for a rating at all. After testing Browning/ProSteel safes to rigorous standards, Omega Point conducts multiple, unannounced inspections of the manufacturing facility during the year to ensure the materials and production methods are withing the specifications of the original listing. This assures every Omega Point rated safe that comes off the Browning/ProSteel line meets the strict standards required for the lab's original listing. Browning's most fire-resistant safes carry the Omega Point Laboratories 1200 degree F for 90 minutes fire rating. These safes have 150% more fire insulation than our safes that carry the Omega Point Laboratories 1200 degree F for 30 minutes for fire rating.
