Great voice. Incredible hunter. A true Browning girl.
Kristy Lee Cook is one of the most well-known members of the Browning family and an accomplish Browning Pro Staff Team member. Her recently release single "Lookin' for a Cowgirl" has propelled her further into the publlic eye once again, with write-ups in major music reviews including Rolling Stone magazine.
Below is a Short Bio on Kristy Lee and an update on what she is doing.
Personal life -- Kristy Lee Cook was born in Seattle, Washington, to Larry and Carlene Cook in 1984. Her brother-in-law is quarterback John Dutton of the Arena Football League. She currently resides in a log cabin in Selma, Oregon, splitting her time with recording stints in Nashville and performming across the country..
It was during the airing of an interview/profile done during American Idol that Browning first spotted Kristy Lee wearing a Browning hat with the recognizable Browning Buckmark. She was already a Browning girl when we got in touch with her. When her time on American Idol ended we began talking about all the exciting things she and Browning could do together. Soon after she was headed for filming episodes of the classic Browning Expeditions TV series. Plus she was off to other non-filmed hunts, just for fun. Today she continues to pursue her professional career in country music (see below) while at the same time she has established herself as a successful, avid all-around outdoors woman.
Professional -- She was the seventh place finalist on the seventh season of American Idol. In June 2008, she released her post-Idol album Why Wait in September 16, 2008. This album produced her first chart single "15 Minutes of Shame", a Top 30 hit on the Billboard country charts. She has always been an outdoor girl, a cowgirl and a country girl. But by this time she had been introduced to hunting and hunting and the hunting lifestyle quickly became an important part of her life. In 2008 and 2009 she traveled to Texas and New Zealand as part of the Browning Expeditions. These episodes were on the first season of Expeditions in 2009 on ESPN2. Later she is the host of her own TV show -- Browning's Goin' Country with Kristy Lee Cook -- a series about country music and hunting . . . two of her great passions.
Watch her on her current TV project The Most Wanted.
