This position reports to the Vice President/Compliance Officer/Director of Legal Affairs for Browning. The person in this position will need to be able to provide support to Browning by keeping abreast of legislation in order to comply with federal, state and local laws. This position will also support legislative actions for products liability based litigation; and other civil matters in order to minimize Company exposure and will be responsible for contracts/contract proposals. A combination of education, training and work experience from 7-10 years is required; and the person selected will need to become well versed quickly regarding Company and litigation procedures. An ability to analyze facts, evidence and manage documents, depositions and other evidence in addition to performing basic legal research of case law and legislation related to firearms use/ manufacturing will be very important.
The Essential Job Duties for this position are as follows:
Paralegal certification and seven to ten years Paralegal experience. Experience in contracts, litigation and extensive research is also required.
The ideal candidate for this position will need to be detail-focused and be able to quickly identify inconsistencies, mistakes, and can make detailed comparisons between similar sources.
The ideal candidate needs to be able to prioritize tasks and manage the time needed for the position, and be able to seek/identify ways to improve processes/solve problems.
The ideal candidate needs to have the ability to interact and maintain client confidentiality, relate to individuals and groups, and be able to collaborate effectively.
