When you’re outdoors, a change in the weather is as certain as sunset. And since you’re not likely to find big bucks back at camp, the hunting clothes you choose need to be as versatile as nature herself. They must keep you warm, dry and comfortable in the crisp morning air and through drizzling rain, breathing when you are on the move, and insulating you while in your tree stand. That’s why we’re proud to introduce new Browning Gator Fleece™ .

Thanks to a new, proprietary surface-infusion technology from Polartec®, Gator Fleece fabric effectively repels wind, water and snow in all but the most torrential of downpours, without relying on a traditional waterproof laminate. To further increase the water-resistant qualities of Gator Fleece, seams are cut and stitched strategically along the shoulders and sleeves to eliminate water from penetrating these areas.

The water-resistant capabilities of Gator Fleece offer several advantages over fully waterproof, laminated garments. Since dramatic weather conditions are seldom encountered in the field, Gator Fleece eliminates the need for expensive laminated fabrics that restrict the breathability of a garment. With no laminate, Gator Fleece breathes like regular fleece to keep you cool and dry when the temperature rises or when you are stalking game. Additionally, two upper Ventilator™ pockets with WaterGuard™ zipper closures, which are standard on the parka and jacket, provide additional breathability.

Unlike regular fleece, Gator Fleece is very tough — hence the name. In fact, Gator Fleece is three times more abrasion-resistant than heavy canvas duck fabric traditionally used in work wear (shown right), making it perfect for walking through heavily wooded areas and scrambling over rocks. Yet, as durable as Gator Fleece is, it retains the supple feel of regular fleece. Plus, the unique fabric design allows it to stretch for a wide range of motion and greater comfort. In spite of its durability, Gator Fleece is extremely quiet while hiking and stalking in the woods, making it the perfect choice for archery and rifle hunters alike.

For improved insulation properties, the inner surfaces of Gator Fleece are fleeced to trap warm air. This eliminates the need for separate layering garments, furthering comfort and freedom of movement while reducing bulk.

The new Gator Fleece parka features two front cargo pockets, a drawcord waist and detachable hood, while the jacket utilizes two front slash pockets and a drawcord waist. Both feature a full front zipper with a storm flap and and a form fitting design. The pant features the same water-and abrasion-resistant qualities as well as a fully constructed waist with a zipper fly, belt loops, ample pocket space and convenient zip-to-knee cuff opening. Rounding out the line of Gator Fleece products are gloves with Tough-Tec™ palm grips, and an adjustable bucket hat.
