Outdoor Life Editors give Browning’s Russ Kommer fixed blade knife top marks.
Release Date: 10/7/2013
Review of article in October 2013 Outdoor Life on the Russ Kommer Signature Fxed Blace knife.
In the October 2013 issue of Outdoor Life, the editors tested seven popular fixed blade knives, including the Russ Kommer signature fixed blade, giving it straight a grades and four of four stars.
“A workhorse that’s as utilitarian as it is handsome,”
“This knife is an all-around excellent pick,” reported the editors. “The drop point blade is an excellent shape for big game. It’s not only razor sharp out of the box, but it is easily resharpened. The rubberized handle provides a good grip in the most slippery conditions, and it’s stout enough to split sternums… .”
The Russ Kommer Signature knives are available on both fixed and folding styles. They have hollow-ground satin finished AUS-8 stainless blades laser engraved with the designers signature. The Browning logo is engraved on the ricaso. The polymer handles are accented with sacked brass layers for a rich, traditional look. Fixed blade models come with a black nylon belt sheath, and the folders have a pocket clip.
