Fire Protection

Master Series Gun Safes

Fire is very erratic and unpredictable, but there is an actual science to providing better fire protection. We have done significant research and testing to create better fire protection for your valuables.

Fire protection is more than just a number on the door. It involves careful design and quality construction. Additional fire protection features are added to better Master Series safes to increase the level of fire protection. Thickness of insulation is the most important factor in fire resistance. More insulation means more protection. Our better safes have more insulation to give your valuables more protection.

Other design factors also contribute to fire protection — like a Palusol® intumescent fire seal and a full, thicker inner door plate.

There is no industry standard fire test, so comparing ratings between safe companies is difficult if not impossible. The best comparison is the thickness of the insulation. Browning and ProSteel use a rigorous test method to assure that our fire ratings are meaningful, even though some other ratings may not be. You can be confident that a Browning ProSteel Master Series safe offers real fire protection.
