My handle is free spinning. What happened?

Answer:

This almost always occurs because the shear pin has broken, which it is supposed to do when approximately 150 lbs. of pressure is applied.  You can contact the safe department at (800) 926-5573 and they will send you a new shear pin.  If the safe is locked the safe department can  e-mail or fax instructions on how to open the safe.
