1962-68 From 1958 serial numbers were preceded by the date of manufacture.
2P=Nomad for 1962.
Example: 2P1000 = A 1962 Nomad .22 caliber pistol with serial number 1000. In some instances the numbers may be reversed, Example: 1000P2
P=Nomad
1969-74 In 1969 Browning started using two digits for the date of manufacture which was followed by letter code:
P=Nomad
This was then followed by the serial number beginning with 1000.
Example: 69P1000 = A 1969 Nomad .22 caliber pistol with serial number 1000.
P=Nomad
